     Major Edmond Butler was the son of Hon. Piers Butler and Hon. Margaret Netterville.² He married Catherine Crispe, daughter of Nicholas Crispe, circa 1657.¹ He died on 12 July 1691, killed in action.¹
     He lived at Killoshulan, County Kilkenny, Ireland^G.¹ He gained the rank of Major in 1689 in the Colonel Edward Butler’s Regiment of Horse.¹ He fought in the Battle of Aughrim on 12 July 1691.¹

     Catherine Crispe is the daughter of Nicholas Crispe.¹ She married, firstly, Edward Murphy before 1657.¹ She married, secondly, Major Edmond Butler, son of Hon. Piers Butler and Hon. Margaret Netterville, circa 1657.¹
     From before 1657, her married name became Murphy.¹ From circa 1657, her married name became Butler.

     Piers Butler was the son of Major Edmond Butler and Catherine Crispe.² He married Domvile Hartpole, daughter of Sir Robert Hartpole and unknown Domvile, before 1696.¹ He died in January 1716/17.¹
     Through his wife, he possessed estates including Aghmacart, Rathillig and Garrendenny, Queen’s County.¹ He gained the rank of Captain between 1689 and 1691 in the 3rd Lord Galmoye’s Regiment of Horse.¹ In 1691 he was pardoned.¹ He lived at Newtown, Durrow, County Laois, Ireland^G.¹ He lived at Urlingford, County Kilkenny, Ireland^G.¹

     Sir Robert Hartpole married unknown Domvile, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir William Domvile and Bridget Lake.¹
     He lived at Shrule Castle, County Laois, Ireland^G.¹

     Domvile Hartpole was the daughter of Sir Robert Hartpole and unknown Domvile.^2,1 She married Piers Butler, son of Major Edmond Butler and Catherine Crispe, before 1696.¹ She died circa November 1735.¹ She was buried on 12 November 1735.¹
     From before 1696, her married name became Butler.

     Edward Butler is the son of Richard Butler and Sarah Evans.¹

     Reverend Hugh Skellern held the office of the Rector between 1705 and 1729.¹

     Anne Skellern was the daughter of Reverend Hugh Skellern.² She and Edmond Butler obtained a marriage license on 9 April 1720.¹ She died on 19 April 1787.¹
     She lived at Fookscourt, County Kilkenny, Ireland^G.¹ From 9 April 1720, her married name became Butler.

     Piers Butler was born in 1722.² He was the son of Edmond Butler and Anne Skellern.² He married Mary Mandeville, daughter of Theobald Mandeville, on 24 February 1756.² He died on 9 August 1796.²
     He matriculated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, in 1739.² He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1748 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.² He was styled as 5th Viscount of Galmoye, in co. Kilkenny [I., 1646] circa 1770, despite the attainder of the 3rd Viscount.² He lived in 1776 at Deerpark, Cashel, County Tipperary, Ireland^G.²

     Richard Butler was the son of Edmond Butler and Anne Skellern.² He died between 1734 and 1757, unmarried.¹
     On 30 May 1734 he was named as 3rd life in the lease of Newtown.¹ On 2 December 1757 he was not mentioned in his father’s will.¹
