Whitney Willard Straight was born on 6 November 1912 at New York, U.S.A.3 He was the son of Williard Dickerman Straight and Dorothy Payne Whitney.2 He married Lady Daphne Margarita Finch-Hatton, daughter of Guy Montagu George Finch-Hatton, 14th Earl of Winchilsea and Margaretta Armstrong Drexel, on 17 July 1935.4 He died on 5 April 1979 at age 66.3
