     John Charles Edmund Carson Meade, 6th Earl of Clanwilliam was born on 6 June 1914.¹ He was the son of Arthur Vesey Meade, 5th Earl of Clanwilliam and Muriel Mary Temple Stephenson.¹ He married Catherine Loyd, daughter of Colonel Arthur Thomas Loyd and Dorothy Willert, on 1 December 1948.¹ He died on 30 March 1989 at age 74.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Second World War, in the Middle East and France, and was mentioned in despatches.² He retired from the military in 1948, with the rank of Major, late of the Coldstream Guards.³ He succeeded as the 6th Earl Clanwilliam [I., 1776] on 23 January 1953.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baron Clanwilliam, of co. Tipperary [U.K., 1828] on 23 January 1953.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Baron Gillford, of the Manor of Gillford, co. Down [I., 1766] on 23 January 1953.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Viscount Clanwilliam, of co. Tipperary [I., 1766] on 23 January 1953.¹ He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Meade, of Ballintubber, co. Cork [I., 1703] on 23 January 1953.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Down between 1957 and 1962.² He held the office of Lieutenant of County Down between 1962 and 1975.² He was appointed Commander, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.) in 1975.² He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of County Down between 1975 and 1979.³

     Catherine Loyd was the daughter of Colonel Arthur Thomas Loyd and Dorothy Willert.^1,2 She married John Charles Edmund Carson Meade, 6th Earl of Clanwilliam, son of Arthur Vesey Meade, 5th Earl of Clanwilliam and Muriel Mary Temple Stephenson, on 1 December 1948.¹ She died on 22 January 2014.³
     Her married name became Meade. After her marriage, Catherine Loyd was styled as Countess of Clanwilliam on 23 January 1953. She lived in 2003 at Maizley Cottage, Oare, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England^G.⁴

     Colonel Arthur Thomas Loyd was born on 19 April 1882.³ He was the son of Lewis Haig Loyd.⁴ He married Dorothy Willert, daughter of Paul Ferdinand Willert and Henrietta Crofts, in 1911.⁵ He died on 8 November 1944 at age 62.³
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)⁵ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Berkshire between 1935 and 1944.³ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)⁶ He lived at Lockinge, Wantage, Berkshire, England^G.⁷

     Lady Selina Catherine Meade was born on 14 March 1950.² She was the daughter of John Charles Edmund Carson Meade, 6th Earl of Clanwilliam and Catherine Loyd.² She married Nicholas George Lawrence Timpson, son of Major John Alastair Livingston Timpson and Elizabeth Phoebe Houstoun-Boswall, on 28 October 1972.² She died on 15 May 2018 at age 68.³
     From 28 October 1972, her married name became Timpson. She lived in 2003 at Ardington Croft, Wantage, Oxfordshire, England^G.²

     Lady Mary Jane Meade was born on 12 July 1952.² She is the daughter of John Charles Edmund Carson Meade, 6th Earl of Clanwilliam and Catherine Loyd.^1,3 She married John Armar Lowry-Corry, 8th Earl of Belmore, son of Major Galbraith Armar Lowry-Corry, 7th Earl of Belmore and Gloria Anthea Harker, in 1984.¹
     After her marriage, Lady Mary Jane Meade was styled as Countess Belmore in 1984. From 1984, her married name became Lowry-Corry.¹ She lived in 2003 at Castle Coole, Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Ireland^G.²

     Lady Julia Elizabeth Meade was born on 31 December 1953.² She is the daughter of John Charles Edmund Carson Meade, 6th Earl of Clanwilliam and Catherine Loyd.² She married Robert Ralph Scrymgeour Hiscox, son of Ralph Hiscox, in 1985.²
     From 1985, her married name became Hiscox.² She lived in 2003 at Rainscombe Park, Oare, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England^G.²

     Lady Laura Louise Meade was born on 11 March 1957.² She is the daughter of John Charles Edmund Carson Meade, 6th Earl of Clanwilliam and Catherine Loyd.² She married W. Scott B. Reid, son of Howard Reid, on 25 April 1981.²
     From 25 April 1981, her married name became Reid.

     Lady Katharine Anne Meade was born on 10 August 1959.² She is the daughter of John Charles Edmund Carson Meade, 6th Earl of Clanwilliam and Catherine Loyd.² She married Christopher Aubrey Hamilton Wills, son of Hon. Victor Patrick Hamilton Wills and Felicity Betty Jonsson, in 1987.²
     From 1987, her married name became Wills. She lived in 2003 at Litchfield Down, Whitchurch, Hampshire, England^G.²

     Lady Mary Anne Selina Meade was born on 16 February 1910.² She was the daughter of Arthur Vesey Meade, 5th Earl of Clanwilliam and Muriel Mary Temple Stephenson.² She married, firstly, Colonel Robert Arthur Hermon, son of Lt.-Col. Edward William Hermon and Ethel Hermon, on 29 August 1934.¹ She and Colonel Robert Arthur Hermon were divorced in 1946.¹ She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. A. Frank Stanley-Clarke in 1946.¹ She married, thirdly, S/Ldr. David Beckwith Rodd, son of Thomas Rodd, in October 1954.¹ She died on 26 July 1965 at age 55.¹
     From 29 August 1934, her married name became Hermon. From 1946, her married name became Stanley-Clarke. From October 1954, her married name became Rodd.

     Colonel Robert Arthur Hermon was the son of Lt.-Col. Edward William Hermon and Ethel Hermon.^2,3 He married Lady Mary Anne Selina Meade, daughter of Arthur Vesey Meade, 5th Earl of Clanwilliam and Muriel Mary Temple Stephenson, on 29 August 1934.² He and Lady Mary Anne Selina Meade were divorced in 1946.² He died on 7 October 1963.¹
     He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the The Royals.¹ He lived at Breda, Alford, Aberdeenshire, Scotland^G.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹
