Frank Charles Furlong was born on 6 December 1910 at Glanmire, County Cork, Ireland.2 He was the son of Noel Furlong and Rosemary St. John Murphy.3 He died on 13 September 1944 at age 33, killed in action.1,4
He won the Grand National on Reynoldstown.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (A) in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.4
