     General Sir Ivo Lucius Beresford Vesey was born on 11 August 1876.¹ He was the son of Maj.-Gen. George Henry Vesey and Constance Marshall.¹ He married Geraldine Foley, daughter of Vice-Admiral Francis John Foley and Frances Jane Blayne, on 28 January 1913.¹ He died on 19 February 1975 at age 98.¹
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was severely wounded, and was mentioned in despatches.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches four times.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.¹ He was awarded the Officier, Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur.¹ He was awarded the Order of St. Maurice and St. Lazarus of Italy.¹ He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.¹ He was awarded the Order of the Crown of Belgium.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1919.¹ He was Director of Organisation, War Office between 1919 and 1922.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1923.¹ He was Director of Organisation and Staff Duties, Air Ministry between 1923 and 1929.¹ He gained the rank of General in the Queen’s Royal Regiment.¹ He gained the rank of Air Vice Marshal.¹ He was Commander of the 48th (South Midland) Division (Territorial Army) between 1930 and 1931.¹ He was Director of Staff Duties, War Office between 1931 and 1934.¹ He was General-Officer-Commanding of the Western Comand, India in 1935.¹ He was General-Officer-Commanding of the Southern Comand, India between 1936 and 1937.¹ He held the office of Chief of the General Staff, India between 1937 and 1939.¹ He was Colonel of the The Queen’s Regiemnt between 1939 and 1945.¹

     Maj.-Gen. George Henry Vesey was born on 29 December 1824.¹ He was the son of Reverend Hon. Arthur Vesey and Sydney Johnstone.¹ He married Constance Marshall, daughter of George Marshall and Elizabeth Helen Gore, on 18 October 1866 at Croydon, London, England.^1,2 He died on 29 January 1893 at age 68.¹
     He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royal Artillery.¹

     Harriet Alicia Sheffield Grace was the daughter of Sheffield Grace and Harriet Georgina Hamilton.¹ She married Admiral Charles Vesey, son of Reverend Hon. Arthur Vesey and Sydney Johnstone, on 20 December 1860.¹ She died on 10 October 1897, without issue.¹
     Her married name became Vesey.

     Sheffield Grace was the son of Richard Grace and Jane Evans.² He married Harriet Georgina Hamilton, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir John Hamilton, 1st Bt. and Emily Sophia Monck, on 29 June 1829.² He died on 5 July 1850.²
     He was appointed Knight, Hanoverian Order (K.H.)¹ He was a practising barrister-at-law.² He lived at The Knole, Sussex, England^G.¹ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.³
     

     Harriet Georgina Hamilton was born circa 1805.¹ She was the daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir John Hamilton, 1st Bt. and Emily Sophia Monck.^1,2 She married Sheffield Grace, son of Richard Grace and Jane Evans, on 29 June 1829.¹ She died on 21 June 1884.¹
     Her married name became Grace.

     Lt.-Gen. Sir John Hamilton, 1st Bt. was born on 4 August 1755 at Woodbrook, Strabane, County Tyrone, Ireland.^1,2 He was the son of John Hamilton and Eleanor Stewart.¹ He married Emily Sophia Monck, daughter of George Paul Monck and Lady Aramintha Beresford, on 1 May 1794.¹ He died on 24 December 1835 at age 80.¹
     He was created 1st Baronet Hamilton, of Woodbrook, co. Tyrone [U.K.] on 21 December 1814.

     Reverend Hon. Arthur Vesey was born on 3 March 1773.² He was the son of Thomas Vesey, 1st Viscount de Vesci of Abbey Leix and Selina Elizabeth Brooke.² He married Sydney Johnstone, daughter of Edward Johnstone, in 1810.² He died on 5 December 1832 at age 59.²
     He was the Rector at Abbey-Leix, County Laois, Ireland^G.¹

     Admiral Charles Vesey was born on 4 March 1823.¹ He was the son of Reverend Hon. Arthur Vesey and Sydney Johnstone.¹ He married Harriet Alicia Sheffield Grace, daughter of Sheffield Grace and Harriet Georgina Hamilton, on 20 December 1860.¹ He died on 18 February 1904 at age 80, without issue.¹
     He gained the rank of Admiral in the Royal Navy.¹ He was Aide-de-Camp to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland.¹

     Constance Marshall was born on 22 October 1839 at Albany Street, Camden, London, England.² She was the daughter of George Marshall and Elizabeth Helen Gore.^1,2 She married Maj.-Gen. George Henry Vesey, son of Reverend Hon. Arthur Vesey and Sydney Johnstone, on 18 October 1866 at Croydon, London, England.^1,2 She died on 25 December 1927 at age 88 at Tile Barn, Farnborough, Hampshire, England.¹
     Her married name became Vesey.

     George Marshall was born on 18 January 1802 at Westoe, County Durham, England^G.^2,3 He was the son of George Marshall and Hannah Anderson.³ He married Elizabeth Helen Gore on 23 February 1836 at St. Mary the Virgin, Woodford, Essex, England.³ He died on 21 May 1877 at age 75 at 109 Marina Street, St. Leonards on Sea, Sussex, England.^2,4
     He was a ship owner and partner of George Marshall & Sons.³ He lived at St. Leonards, Sussex, England^G.⁵ He lived at Portland Place, London, England^G.⁵ He lived at Hardres Court, Canterbury, Kent, England.⁵
