     Brig.-Gen. Edward FitzGerald Brereton was born in 1861.¹ He was the son of William Westropp Brereton and Geraldine Mary Kean.² He married Fanny Gertrude Foster, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Edward Horatio Henry Foster and Mary Charlotte Dick.¹ He died on 6 April 1937.¹
     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ He fought in the North-West Frontier between 1897 and 1898.¹ He fought in the Boer War.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1902.¹ He was commander of the 2nd Battalion between 1907 and 1911.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in the Northamptonshire Regiment.¹ He was commander of the 2nd West Riding Brigade (TF), 147 Infantry Brigade.¹ He was commander of the Wessex Reserve Brigade.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1916.¹ He held the office of Commisisoner of Boy Scouts in 1921.¹

     Maj.-Gen. Edward Horatio Henry Foster was born in 1825. He married Mary Charlotte Dick. He died in 1895.
     He gained the rank of Major-General in the Suffolk Regiment.¹

     Fanny Gertrude Foster was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Edward Horatio Henry Foster and Mary Charlotte Dick.² She married Brig.-Gen. Edward FitzGerald Brereton, son of William Westropp Brereton and Geraldine Mary Kean.¹ She died in 1930.¹
     Her married name became Brereton.

     Geraldine Mary Brereton was born on 18 August 1888.¹ She was the daughter of Brig.-Gen. Edward FitzGerald Brereton and Fanny Gertrude Foster.² She married Colonel Arthur Pole Welman on 8 November 1909 at Cathedral Church, St. George, Sierra Leone.^1,3 She died in 1981 at Portsmouth, Hampshire, England.³
     From 8 November 1909, her married name became Welman. She lived in 1976 at Flat 17, Woodpath House, Woodpath, Southsea, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     Gerald Pole Welman was born on 25 August 1911 at Colchester, Essex, England.¹ He was the son of Colonel Arthur Pole Welman and Geraldine Mary Brereton.² He married, secondly, Joyce Millington Smith.³ He married, thirdly, Priscilla Sawyer Hammond in 1983.³ He died on 26 December 2004 at age 93 at Williamsville, New York, U.S.A.³
     He gained the rank of officer in the 105th Army Field Brigade, Royal Artillery (Territorial Army) and 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards.¹ He gained the rank of Senior Captain in the Royal Air Force, Transport Command (Canada.)¹ He gained the rank of Pilot Officer in the Royal Air Force.¹ He was a pilot with Central American Airlines.³ He was test pilot and captain for BWI Airways.¹ He was a hydraulic engineer.¹ He lived in 1976 at 179 Hirschfield Drive, Williamsville, New York, U.S.A.^G.¹

     Mary Geraldine Brereton was the daughter of William Westropp Brereton and Geraldine Mary Kean.² She died on 15 February 1933, unmarried.¹

     Elizabeth Brereton was the son of William Westropp Brereton and Geraldine Mary Kean.² He died on 7 November 1876.¹
