     Frederick Sadlerr Brereton was born in 1898.¹ He was the son of John Sadleir Brereton and Jane Branson.²

     Lt.-Col. Frederick Sadleir Brereton was born on 5 August 1872.¹ He was the son of Franc Sadleir Brereton and Isabella Beeston.² He married, firstly, Ethel Mary Lamb, daughter of William James Lamb, on 5 January 1898.¹ He married, secondly, Isobel Jessie Ross, daughter of Thomas Jaffrey Ross, in 1953.¹ He died on 12 August 1957 at age 85.¹
     He was educated at Cranleigh School, Cranleigh, Surrey, England^G.¹ He was educated at Guy’s Hospital Medical School, London, England^G.¹ He fought in the Boer War.¹ He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Army Medical Corps, formerly Army Medical Service, and attached to the 2nd Battalion, Scots Guards.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hertfordshire in 1918.¹ He was awarded the Commander, Order of the Crown of Italy.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.¹ He was awarded the Commander, Order of Avis of Portugal.¹ He was registered as a Licentiate, Royal College of Physicians, London (L.R.C.P.)¹ He was registered as a Member, Royal College of Surgeons (M.R.C.S.)¹ He was author of many stories of military campaigns.¹

     Ethel Mary Lamb was the daughter of William James Lamb.² She married Lt.-Col. Frederick Sadleir Brereton, son of Franc Sadleir Brereton and Isabella Beeston, on 5 January 1898.¹ She died on 26 June 1948.¹
     From 5 January 1898, her married name became Brereton.
