     Guy de Luxembourg, Comte de Ligny was born in 1340.1 He was the son of Jean de Luxemburg, Comte de Ligny and Alix de Dampierre.1 He married Mathilde de Châtillon, Comtesse de Saint-Pol, daughter of Jean de Châtillon, Comte de Saint-Pol and Jeanne de Fiennes, circa 1350.2 He died on 22 August 1371 at Cologne, Germany, killed in action.1
     He gained the title of Comte de Ligny.
