Sir James O’Connell, 1st Bt. was born on 10 January 1786.1 He was the son of Morgan O’Connell and Catherine O’Mullane.2 He married Jane O’Donoghue, daughter of Charles O’Donoghue, The O’Donaghue of the Glens and Mary Morrough, on 31 March 1818.1 He died on 28 July 1872 at age 86.1
He was created 1st Baronet O’Connell, of Lakeview, Killarney, co. Kerry and of Ballybeggan, Tralee, co. Kerry [U.K.] on 29 October 1869.1

Jane O’Donoghue was baptised on 20 November 1801.2 She was the daughter of Charles O’Donoghue, The O’Donaghue of the Glens and Mary Morrough.3,4 She married Sir James O’Connell, 1st Bt., son of Morgan O’Connell and Catherine O’Mullane, on 31 March 1818.1 She died on 15 April 1867 at age 65.1
