     Thomas Griffin was born circa 1496.¹ He was the son of Nicholas Griffin.¹ He married Jane Newton, daughter of Richard Newton.¹ He died on 27 August 1566, without surviving male issue.¹
     He was educated in 1509 at Lincoln’s Inn, London, England^G.¹ He succeeded as the 11th Lord Griffin, of Braybrook, Northamptonshire [E., 1299] on 15 May 1509, de jure.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Northamptonshire between 1532 and 1544.¹ He gained the rank of Knight before 1533.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Northamptonshire in 1534.¹

     Hon. William John French was born on 21 April 1854.¹ He was the son of Charles French, 3rd Baron de Freyne of Coolavin and Catherine Maree.² He married Mary Beirne on 10 July 1900.¹ He died in 1928.¹
     He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Wexford Militia.¹

     Mary Beirne married Hon. William John French, son of Charles French, 3rd Baron de Freyne of Coolavin and Catherine Maree, on 10 July 1900.¹ She died in 1924.¹
     From 10 July 1900, her married name became French.

     J. Folliott married Margaret French, daughter of Dominick French and Anne King.¹
     He lived at County Sligo, Ireland^G.¹

     Lt.-Col. Hon. Richard Patrick French was born on 30 April 1857.¹ He was the son of Charles French, 3rd Baron de Freyne of Coolavin and Catherine Maree.² He died on 19 June 1921 at age 64.¹
     He gained the rank of Major and Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel in the 5th Battalion, Connaught Rangers.¹

     Lt.-Col. Hon. Robert French was born on 22 October 1858.¹ He was the son of Charles French, 3rd Baron de Freyne of Coolavin and Catherine Maree.² He married Mary Cassandra Mair, daughter of Hugh Mair, on 29 July 1885.¹ He died on 27 September 1920 at age 61.¹
     He gained the rank of Major and Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel in the 2nd Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment.¹

     Hugh Mair lived at Phyllis Court, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹

     Mary Cassandra Mair is the daughter of Hugh Mair.² She married, firstly, Lt.-Col. Hon. Robert French, son of Charles French, 3rd Baron de Freyne of Coolavin and Catherine Maree, on 29 July 1885.¹ She married, secondly, Captain Cyril Richards, son of D. T. Richards, on 5 February 1921.²
     From 29 July 1885, her married name became French. From 5 February 1921, her married name became Richards.²

     Hugh Ronald French was born on 23 May 1886.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hon. Robert French and Mary Cassandra Mair.² He married Ida Marcella Wynne, daughter of Robert J. Wynne, on 17 June 1909.¹ He and Ida Marcella Wynne were divorced in 1913.¹ He died on 5 July 1929 at age 43.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 7th Dragoon Guards (Special Reserves.)¹

     Robert J. Wynne was U.S. Consul-General to London.¹
