     John Vinton Dahlgren was the son of Rear Admiral John Adolph Bernard Dahlgren and Madeleine Vinton.¹ He married Elizabeth Wharton Drexel, daughter of Joseph William Drexel and Lucy Wharton, on 29 June 1889.¹ He died in 1898.¹

     John Vinton Dahlgren II was born in 1892.¹ He was the son of John Vinton Dahlgren and Elizabeth Wharton Drexel.¹ He died in 1964.¹

     Lucy Wharton was born in 1841.¹ She married Joseph William Drexel, son of Francis Martin Drexel and Catherine Hookey.¹ She died in 1912.¹
     Her married name became Drexel.¹

     Rear Admiral John Adolph Bernard Dahlgren was born on 13 November 1809 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.^G.¹ He was the son of Bernhard Ulrik Dahlgren.¹ He married Madeleine Vinton, daughter of Samuel Finley Vinton and Romaine Madeleine Bureau, in 1865.¹ He died on 12 July 1870 at age 60.¹
     He was commissioned in 1826 with the rank of Midshipman, in the service of the U.S. Navy.¹ He fought in the American Civil War, where he commanded the Bureau of Ordnance.¹ He gained the rank of Rear Admiral in the U.S. Navy.¹

     Robert Oliver Lehr was a tobacco and snuff importer.¹ He was German Consul to Baltimore.¹

     Francis Martin Drexel was born on 7 April 1792 at Dornbirn, Austria^G.¹ He married Catherine Hookey on 23 April 1821 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Spruce Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.^G.¹ He died on 5 June 1863 at age 71 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.^G.¹ He was buried at Woodlands Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.^G.¹
     He emigrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.^G, arriving on 1817.¹ In 1837 he founded Drexel & Company.¹ He was a banker.¹

     Catherine Hookey was born in 1795.¹ She married Francis Martin Drexel on 23 April 1821 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Spruce Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.^G.¹ She died in 1870.¹
     From 23 April 1821, her married name became Drexel.¹

     Anthony Joseph Drexel was born on 13 September 1826 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.^G.¹ He was the son of Francis Martin Drexel and Catherine Hookey.¹ He married Ellen B. Rozet, daughter of John Rozet and Mary Ann Lanning, on 13 August 1850.^1,2 He died on 30 June 1893 at age 66 at Karlsbad, Germany^G, from a heart attack.¹
     He founded Drexel University.¹ In 1868 at Paris, France^G, he formed Drexel, Harjes & Company.¹ In 1871 at New York, U.S.A.^G, he formed Drexel, Morgan & Company.¹
