Rear Admiral John Adolph Bernard Dahlgren was born on 13 November 1809 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.G.1 He was the son of Bernhard Ulrik Dahlgren.1 He married Madeleine Vinton, daughter of Samuel Finley Vinton and Romaine Madeleine Bureau, in 1865.1 He died on 12 July 1870 at age 60.1
He was commissioned in 1826 with the rank of Midshipman, in the service of the U.S. Navy.1 He fought in the American Civil War, where he commanded the Bureau of Ordnance.1 He gained the rank of Rear Admiral in the U.S. Navy.1

Anthony Joseph Drexel was born on 13 September 1826 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.G.1 He was the son of Francis Martin Drexel and Catherine Hookey.1 He married Ellen B. Rozet, daughter of John Rozet and Mary Ann Lanning, on 13 August 1850.1,2 He died on 30 June 1893 at age 66 at Karlsbad, GermanyG, from a heart attack.1
