     William Charles Booth was baptised on 12 February 1793.1 He was the son of Thomas Bache and Mary Gibson.1 He married Mary Fox, daughter of Thomas Fox, in 1814.1
     He was given the name of William Charles Bache at birth.1 He was lord of the manor of Twemlow, Cheshire in 1810.1 In 1810 his name was legally changed to William Charles Booth by Sign Manual on succeeding his kinsman.1
