Alan John Francis Mackay was born on 6 September 1919.¹ He was the son of Kenneth Mackay, 2nd Earl of Inchcape and Joan Moriarty.¹ He married, firstly, Janet Mary Wallis, daughter of Frederick Wallis, on 3 January 1945.¹ He and Janet Mary Wallis were divorced in 1946.¹ He married, secondly, Sonia Cecilia Helen Tylden, daughter of Captain James Richard Tylden, on 30 June 1948.¹ He and Sonia Cecilia Helen Tylden were divorced in 1953.¹ He married, thirdly, Countess Lucie Catinka Christiane Julie Haugwitz-Hardenberg-Reventlow, daughter of Count Curt Ludwig Haugwitz-Hardenberg-Reventlow, on 7 July 1955.² He died on 1 February 1999 at age 79.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹

     Sonia Cecilia Helen Tylden was the daughter of Captain James Richard Tylden.¹ She married, firstly, Hon. Alan John Francis Mackay, son of Kenneth Mackay, 2nd Earl of Inchcape and Joan Moriarty, on 30 June 1948.¹ She and Hon. Alan John Francis Mackay were divorced in 1953.¹ She married, secondly, Richard Hugh Willis Fleming, son of Brigadier John Browne Phillimore Willis Fleming and Eirene Charrington, on 10 November 1953.² She died on 16 February 2022.³
     From 30 June 1948, her married name became Mackay.¹ From 10 November 1953, her married name became Willis Fleming.²

     Captain James Richard Tylden held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)² He lived at The Manor House, Milstead, Kent, England^G.¹

     Siobhan Amanda Mackay was born on 8 November 1949.¹ She is the daughter of Hon. Alan John Francis Mackay and Sonia Cecilia Helen Tylden.¹ She married Christopher O. B. Carver, son of Colonel R. O. H. Carver, on 7 April 1973.²

     Kristina Mary Mackay was born on 25 July 1951.¹ She is the daughter of Hon. Alan John Francis Mackay and Sonia Cecilia Helen Tylden.¹ She married Simon M. F. Lamb in 1975.¹
