Colonel Herbert Frescheville Smyth Ramsden1 
He fought in the Afghan War between 1879 and 1880.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Indian Army.2 He fought in the Suakin Expedition in 1885.2 He gained the rank of Military Accountant-General at India.2 He fought in the Burma Campaign between 1886 and 1887.2 He fought in the First World War, he was mentioned in despatches.2 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Sussex.1
