He was educated at Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Saye and Sele [E., 1447] on 4 July 1450.1 He held the office of Knight of the Body before 18 December 1450.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in March 1453/54.1 He fought in the Battle of Northampton in 1460, for the Yorkists.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kent in 1461.1 He held the office of Constable of Porchester Castle between 1461 and 1471.1 He held the office of Keeper of the New Forest between February 1461 and 1466/67.1 He held the office of Vice-Admiral to the High Admiral of England, the Earl of Warwick in 1462.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hampshire in January 1463/64.1 In 1470 he fled with King Edward IV to Flanders, and returned in 1471.1 He held the office of Battle of Barnet on 14 April 1471.1
