     He was Deputy Quartermaster-General of the Mediterranean.¹

     William Alfred Herbert Holland was born in 1853.¹ He was the son of Frederick Holland.¹ He married Grace Geraldine Girdlestone, daughter of Nelson Girdlestone and Caroline Warner Furlonge.¹ He died in 1912.¹
