     Elizabeth Hext was the daughter of Sir Edward Hext and Dionysia Stonhouse.¹ She married, firstly, Sir Joseph Killigrew, son of Sir Henry Killigrew and Jaél de Peigne, circa 1611.¹ She married, secondly, Sir John Stawell, son of Sir John Stawell and Lady Elizabeth Tuchet, on 9 December 1617.¹ She died in 1657.¹

     He lived at Cothelstone, Somerset, England.¹ He was educated at Queen’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Somerset in 1625.¹ He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) on 1 February 1626.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Somerset between 1640 and 1642.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel of Horse between 1642 and 1646 in the Royalist Army.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Somerset from 1661 to 1662.¹
