     Henry Lumsden was born on 16 July 1784 at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.2 He was the son of Hary Lumsden and Catherine McVeagh.3 He married, secondly, Mary Anne Kirkpatrick, daughter of Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 5th Bt. and Jane Kirkpatrick Sharpe.1 He married, firstly, Catherine Tower, daughter of John Tower, on 26 June 1815 at Old Machar, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1,2 He died on 23 June 1856 at age 71 at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1,2
     He succeeded as heir of entail to the Auchindoir estates.1 He also had five daughters by his first wife and another four daughters by his second wife.1

     From 26 June 1815, her married name became Lumsden.
