Lord Douglas Halyburton1 
He was given the name of Douglas Gordon at birth.1 In 1784 his name was legally changed to Douglas Halyburton on inheriting the Forfarshire estate of his cousin, Hamilton Douglas Halyburton of Pitcur.1 He gained the rank of Assistant Quartermaster-General on 9 June 1803.2 He gained the rank of officer in the 22nd Foot and Grenadier Guards.3 On 24 June 1836 he was granted the rank of a marquess’s younger son.1
