     He was given the name of Edward Egerton Leigh at birth.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 On 26 July 1897 his name was legally changed to Edward Egerton Leigh-White by Royal Licence.1 He graduated from Merton College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1899 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Cork.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Cork.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Cork in 1903.1 He lived at Bantry House, County Cork, IrelandG.1
