     Frederick Lowther Crofton was the son of John Frederick Lowther Crofton and Mary Thorney.2 He married Anne Smith, daughter of Stephen Smith, in 1810.1 He died in 1819, aboard the Semiramis .1
     He gained the rank of officer in the Coldstream Guards.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Marines.1 He also had a daughter.1

     He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He gained the rank of officer in the 6th Dragoon Guards.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 1st Devon Rifles.1
