Sir John Croft, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir Archer Croft, 2nd Bt. and Frances Waring.2 He died on 4 December 1797, without legitimate issue.1

Rev. Sir Herbert Croft, 5th Bt. was born in 1748.1 He was the son of Herbert Croft and Elizabeth Young.3 He married, firstly, Sophia Cleave, daughter of Richard Cleave.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Lewis, daughter of David Lewis, on 25 February 1795.1 He died on 27 April 1816.1
He graduated with a Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.)1 He wrote the book Love and Madness.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Croft, of Croft Castle, co. Hereford [E., 1671] on 4 December 1797.1
