Nickname ‘Teddy’; a cartoon of Roosevelt in The Washington Post depicting the tenderhearted President refusing to shoot a bear cub inspiring the ‘teddy bear’. She died on 14 February 1884 at age 22 at New York City, New York, U.S.A.^G. She was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Brookline, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G.
     Her married name became Roosevelt.

     Alice Lee Roosevelt was born on 12 February 1884 at New York City, New York, U.S.A.^G. She was the daughter of Theodore Roosevelt and Alice Hathaway Lee. She married Nicholas Longworth on 15 February 1906 at White House, Washington, D.C., U.S.A.^G. She died on 20 February 1980 at age 96 at Washington, D.C., U.S.A.^G.

     Brig.-Gen. Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. was born on 13 September 1887 at Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York, U.S.A.^G. He was the son of Theodore Roosevelt and Edith Kermit Carow. He married Eleanor Butler Alexander on 29 June 1910 at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, Manhattan, New York City, New York, U.S.A.^G.³ He died on 12 July 1944 at age 56 at Normandy, France^G.
     He fought in the Second World War.¹ He held the office of Governor of Puerto Rico.¹ He was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honour posthumously.¹

     Kermit Roosevelt was born on 10 October 1889 at Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York, U.S.A.^G. He was the son of Theodore Roosevelt and Edith Kermit Carow. He married Belle Wyatt Willard on 10 June 1914 at Madrid, Spain^G. He died on 4 June 1943 at age 53 at Alaska, U.S.A.^G.
