     He gained the rank of Captain in the Scots Fusilier Guards.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 49th Foot.1

     Mary Hammond Macfarlane was the daughter of Robert Macfarlane.1 She married Maj.-Gen. Lord John Henry Taylour, son of Thomas Taylour, 2nd Marquess of Headfort and Olivia Stevenson, on 12 July 1855.1 She died on 14 January 1872.1
     From 12 July 1855, her married name became Taylour.1
