     He was commissioned in 1897.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1906.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He gained the rank of Major in 1914.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) in 1915.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1916.¹ He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.¹ He was awarded the Croix de Guerre Belgian.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1918.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in 1919.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1930.¹ He was the Commandant between 1930 and 1934 at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Major-General in 1931.¹

     Philip Wagstaff lived at Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹

     Rosabel Thelwall was the daughter of Colonel Eubule Thelwall.¹ She married Maj.-Gen. Cyril Mosley Wagstaff, son of Philip Wagstaff, in 1906.¹ She died in 1926.¹
     From 1906, her married name became Wagstaff.¹

     Marjorie Frances Fry is the daughter of Charles Fry.¹ She married Maj.-Gen. John Talbot Wentworth Reeve, son of Charles Sydney Wentworth Reeve.² She married, firstly, Lt.-Cdr. J. K. Laughton.¹ She married, secondly, Maj.-Gen. Cyril Mosley Wagstaff, son of Philip Wagstaff, in 1927.¹
     Her married name became Reeve.² Her married name became Laughton.¹ From 1927, her married name became Wagstaff.¹

     Lt.-Cdr. J. K. Laughton married Marjorie Frances Fry, daughter of Charles Fry.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal NAvy.¹

     John Percival Davies, 1st Baron Darwen was born on 28 March 1885.¹ He was the son of Thomas Pearce Davies and Lucy Dora Webb.³ He married Mary Kathleen Brown, daughter of Alfred Kemp Brown, on 18 March 1914.¹ He died on 26 December 1950 at age 65.¹
     He was educated at Sidcot School, Winscombe, Somerset, England^G.¹ He was educated at Bootham School, York, Yorkshire, England^G, Heys-in-Bowland.¹ He was educated at Manchester University, Manchester, Lancashire, England^G.¹ He was a cotton manufacturer, and adult education worker.¹ He was created 1st Baron Darwen, of Heys-in-Bowland, in the West Riding of Yorkshire [U.K.] on 12 February 1946.¹ He held the office of Lord-in-Waiting to HM King George VI between 1949 and 1950.¹

     John Taylor was born circa 1593.¹ He was the son of Thomas Taylor.¹ He died in 1658.¹
