     Frances Ellen Carr was the daughter of Rt. Rev. Thomas Carr.¹ She married John Wither Awdry on 28 July 1839.¹ She died on 10 April 1900.¹
     From 28 July 1839, her married name became Awdry.¹

     Reverend Jeremiah Awdry was the Vicar at Felstead, Essex, England^G.¹

     Margaret Helen Moberly was the daughter of Rt. Rev. George Moberly.¹ She married Charles Awdry, son of John Wither Awdry and Frances Ellen Carr, on 20 April 1876.¹ She died on 12 June 1939.¹
     From 20 April 1876, her married name became Awdry.¹

     Constance Lilias Bateson was the daughter of J. Edwin Bateson.¹ She married Major Charles Selwyn Awdry, son of Charles Awdry and Margaret Helen Moberly, on 27 October 1903.¹ She died on 9 April 1946.¹
     From 27 October 1903, her married name became Awdry.¹

     J. Edwin Bateson lived at Brook Lodge, North Stoke, Wallingford, Berkshire, England^G.¹

     John Maxwell Erskine, 1st Baron Erskine of Rerrick was born on 14 December 1893.¹ He was the son of John McMichan Erskine and Mary Ann Maxwell.¹ He married Henrietta Dunnett, daughter of William Dunnett, on 15 September 1922.¹ He died in 1980.³
     He was educated at Kirkcudbright Academy, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland.⁴ He was educated at Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.⁴ He was a practising solicitor.⁴ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kirkcudbrightshire in 1932.⁴ He was general manager, The Commercial Bank of Scotland Ltd between 1932 and 1953.⁴ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society, Edinburgh (F.R.S.E.) in 1933.⁴ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Kirkcudbrightshire in 1940.⁴ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1946.¹ He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1949.¹ He was director, The Commercial Bank of Scotland Ltd between 1951 and 1969.⁴ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.) in 1956.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Erskine [U.K.] on 5 July 1961.¹ He was created 1st Baron Erskine of Rerrick, of Rerrick, Stewartry of Kirkcudbright [U.K.] on 4 September 1964.¹ He was appointed KStJ in 1965.⁴

     Elizabeth Field Clark was the daughter of Samuel Clark.¹ She married Thomas Steuart Gladstone, son of Robert Gladstone and Catherine Steuart, on 3 September 1832.¹ She died in 1897.¹
