Peter James Duff Hawker was born on 30 July 1852.2 He was the son of Peter William Lanoe Hawker and Elizabeth Fraser.3 He married Isabel Flora Augusta Tippinge, daughter of Lt.-Col. Alfred Tippinge and Flora Louisa Calvert, on 14 November 1883.2 He died on 23 March 1896 at age 43.2
He retired from the military in 1873, with the rank of Sub-Lieutenant, late of the Royal Navy.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hampshire.2 He lived at Longparish House, Hampshire, EnglandG.1
