Sir Timothy Carew O’Brien, 3rd Bt.1 
He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, England.2 Between 1880 and 1884 he played two cricket tests for England in Australia.3 He was educated at New Inn Hall, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Derbyshire Yeomanry Cavalry.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 5th Battalion, Royal Irish Fusiliers.1 Between 1895 and 1896 he played three cricket tests for England in South Africa, as captain in teh first match.3 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet O’Brien, of Merrion Square, Dublin and Borris-in-Ossory, Queen’s County [U.K., 1849] on 25 April 1895.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 5th Battalion, Royal Irish Fusiliers.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Cork.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Cork.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He gained the rank of Temporary Major in the Remount Service.1
