     Rt. Rev. Charles James Ferguson Davie was born on 16 March 1872 at Loddon, Norfolk, England^G.^1,2 He was the son of Reverend Charles Robert Ferguson Davie and Anne Clarissa Andrews.³ He married, firstly, Charlotte Elizabeth Hull, daughter of Professor Edward Hull, on 3 November 1902.¹ He married, secondly, Marie Antoinette Hax, daughter of J. A. Hax, on 24 January 1948.¹ He died on 11 September 1963 at age 91.¹
     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)¹ He held the office of Bishop of Singapore between 1909 and 1927.¹ He was the Warden of the Anglican Hostel between 1933 and 1944 at Fort Hare College^G.¹

     Professor Edward Hull was born on 21 May 1824.² He was the son of Reverend John Dawson Hull.² He died on 18 October 1917 at age 93.²

     She graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ From 3 November 1902, her married name became Ferguson Davie.¹ She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1927.¹

     Dorothea Clare Ferguson Davie was born on 24 February 1920.¹ She is the daughter of Rt. Rev. Charles James Ferguson Davie and Charlotte Elizabeth Hull.² She married Denis Ryall Butler, son of Harold Challacombe Butler, on 5 July 1943.¹
     She was given the name of Dorothea Clare Fraser at birth.¹ She graduated from Rhodes University College, Grahamstown, Cape Province, South Africa^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ From 5 July 1943, her married name became Butler. She lived in 2003 at 6 Edinburgh Street, Umkomaas, Natal, South Africa^G.¹
