     Joseph Napier was the son of William Napier and Mary Moore.¹ He married Mary Macpherson.¹ He died circa 1812.¹
     He lived at St. Andrews, County Down, Ireland^G.¹ He had two younger sons (died without issue.¹ )

     Mary Macpherson married Joseph Napier, son of William Napier and Mary Moore.¹ She died in 1805.¹
     Her married name became Napier.

     William Napier was the son of Joseph Napier and Mary Macpherson.² He married Rosetta MacNaghten in 1798.¹ He died on 25 May 1830.¹

     Rosetta MacNaghten married William Napier, son of Joseph Napier and Mary Macpherson, in 1798.¹ She died on 30 June 1836.¹
     She lived at Ballyreagh House, County Antrim, Ireland^G.¹ From 1798, her married name became Napier.

     William Napier was born on 17 January 1801.¹ He was the son of William Napier and Rosetta MacNaghten.² He married Mary Ramsay Birnie, daughter of Arthur Birnie, on 17 May 1826.¹ He died in March 1864 at age 63.¹

     Mary Ramsay Birnie was the daughter of Arthur Birnie.² She married William Napier, son of William Napier and Rosetta MacNaghten, on 17 May 1826.¹ She died in October 1846.¹
     From 17 May 1826, her married name became Napier.

     Rt. Hon. Sir Joseph Napier, 1st Bt. was born on 26 December 1804.¹ He was the son of William Napier and Rosetta MacNaghten.² He married Charity Grace, daughter of John Grace, on 20 August 1831.¹ He died on 9 December 1882 at age 77.¹
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was a practising barrister in 1831.¹ He was appointed Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.) in 1844.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dublin University in 1848.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1852.¹ He held the office of Attorney-General [Ireland].¹ He held the office of Lord Chancellor [Ireland] in 1858.¹ He held the office of Vice-Chancellor of Dublin University between 1867 and 1880.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Napier, of Merrion Square, Dublin [U.K.] on 9 April 1867.¹ He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.) by Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹
