     He was fiar (landowner by tenure called fee) of Abbots Throsk and Abbots Kerse.¹

     Elspeth Abercromby is the daughter of John Abercromby and Agnes Drummond.² She married Robert Haig of Throsk, son of James Haig of Bemersyde and Elizabeth McDougall.¹
     Her married name became Haig.¹

     John Haig is the son of Robert Haig of Throsk and Elspeth Abercromby.² He married, firstly, Isobel Ramsay, daughter of Alexander Ramsay of Alloa, on 1 March 1660.¹ He married, secondly, Janet Maine on 29 June 1683.¹
     He lived at Orchard Farm, Alloa, Clackmannanshire, Scotland^G.¹ He had two other sons (both died young) and two daughters by his first wife, and five daughters by his second wife.¹

     Isobel Ramsay is the daughter of Alexander Ramsay of Alloa.² She married John Haig, son of Robert Haig of Throsk and Elspeth Abercromby, on 1 March 1660.¹
     From 1 March 1660, her married name became Haig.

     George Haig was born on 27 August 1662.¹ He is the son of John Haig and Isobel Ramsay.² He married Janet Anderson, daughter of John Anderson, on 22 March 1684.¹
     He also had six daughters.¹ He lived at Newbigging, Alloa, Clackmannanshire, Scotland^G.¹
