     John Dunbar was born on 14 March 1805.1 He was the son of Sir Archibald Dunbar of Northfield, 6th Bt. and Helen Cumming-Gordon.2 He married Anna Sophia Hagar, daughter of Reverend G. Hagar, on 20 December 1825.1 He died on 1 November 1856 at age 51.1
     He was wit the Bengal Civil Service.1

     Anna Sophia Hagar was the daughter of Reverend G. Hagar.2 She married John Dunbar, son of Sir Archibald Dunbar of Northfield, 6th Bt. and Helen Cumming-Gordon, on 20 December 1825.1 She died on 17 May 1863.1
     From 20 December 1825, her married name became Dunbar.1

Major Penrose John Dunbar1

     Major Penrose John Dunbar was born on 2 September 1827.1 He was the son of John Dunbar and Anna Sophia Hagar.2 He married, secondly, Emma Beddis, daughter of Charles Beddis.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Ann Clarinda Sleigh, daughter of W. W. Sleigh, on 25 September 1858.1 He died on 14 April 1903 at age 75, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the The Buffs.1

     Lt.-Col. Arbuthnott Pery Byng Sutherland Dunbar was born on 18 November 1847.1 He was the son of John Dunbar and Anna Sophia Hagar.2 He married Catharina Hester Orred, daughter of John Orred, on 16 April 1873.1 He died on 1 March 1890 at age 42.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 3rd Battalion, Gordon Hldrs.1
