     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He was a practising solicitor in 1936.1 He gained the rank of Major in the HQ, BLA.1 He was Commissioner for Oaths in 1946.1
