     From 7 May 1901, her married name became Bennett.1

     William Stalker was born on 22 April 1847 at Highwood Nook Farm, Torpenhow, Mealsgate, Cumberland, EnglandG.2 He was the son of William Stalker and Margaret Davison.3 He married Jane Smith, daughter of William Smith and Jane (?), on 21 February 1871 at Rangiora, New ZealandG.2 He died on 25 April 1881 at age 34 at Anama, Canterbury, New ZealandG.4 He was buried at Ashburton Public Cemetery, Old Section, Ashburton, New ZealandG.5
     William immigrated to Lyttelton, Canterbury, New ZealandG, arriving on 1866.2 He was a farmer in January 1871 at Fernside, Rangiora, New ZealandG.2 He was a farmer in 1874 at Tinwald, Ashburton, New ZealandG.1
