Henry Stevenson Blackwood was born on 4 August 1819.2 He was the son of Hans Blackwood, 3rd Baron Dufferin and Claneboye and Elizabeth Finlay.2 He married Lady Amelia Capell, daughter of Hon. John Thomas Capel and Lady Caroline Paget, on 25 April 1857.1 He died on 25 October 1865 at age 46, without issue.2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 17th Lancers.2

     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Bengal Army.1
