     Robert Edward de Vere Capell, 10th Earl of Essex was born on 13 January 1920.¹ He was the son of Arthur Algernon de Vere Capell and Alice Mabel Currie.² He married Doris Margaret Tomlinson, daughter of George Frederick Tomlinson, on 3 January 1942.² He died on 5 June 2005 at age 85.³
     He fought in the Second World War.² He gained the rank of Flight Sergeant in the Royal Air Force.² He was a partner in the family grocery store.¹ He was clerk with the Post Office.¹ He succeeded as the 10th Earl of Essex [E., 1661] on 18 May 1981.² He succeeded as the 11th Baron Capell of Hadham, co. Hereford [E., 1641] on 18 May 1981.² He succeeded as the 10th Viscount Malden, co. Essex [E., 1661] on 18 May 1981.² He lived in 2003 at 2 Novak Place, Torrisholme, Morecambe, Lancashire, England^G.²

     Rodger Ferguson married Audrie Clare Lightening, daughter of Charles Stratton Lightening, in 1937.¹
