     Lt.-Col. William Arthur Russwürm Blennerhassett was born in 1863.¹ He was the son of Captain William John Russwürm and Veronica Montgomerie Atthill.¹ He married Edith Livingstone on 11 July 1901.¹ He died on 1 January 1930 at Jamaica^G.¹
     He was born with the name of William Arthur Russwürm.¹ He was educated at Trinity College, Stratford-on-Avon, Warwickshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Matabele War in 1896.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1898 and 1902.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Essex Regiment.¹ His name was legally changed to Lt.-Col. William Arthur Russwürm Blennerhassett when he assumed his maternal grandmother’s maiden name by Deed Poll in 1912.¹ He fought in the First World War, with the 12th Gloucestershire Regiment.¹
