     Edward Sinclair, 4th of Dryden was the son of Sir John Sinclair, 3rd of Dryden and Katherine Ramsay.² He married, firstly, Margaret Ramsay, daughter of David Ramsay of Bangour.² He married, secondly, Janet Henderson, daughter of James Henderson, 1st of Fordell and Helen Baty, before 27 September 1529.² He married, thirdly, Beatrix Renton, daughter of David Renton of Billie, before 1539.² He died in 1558/59.²

     He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Medical Service.¹
