Hugh Sempill, 12th Lord Sempill and Sarah Gaskell.1,2 He married, firstly, Catherine Gordon, daughter of Arthur Gordon of Wardhouse.1 He married, secondly, Ann Clive, daughter of Richard Clive and Rebecca Gaskell, on 1 December 1766.1 He married, thirdly, Jane Butterworth, daughter of Thomas Butterworth and Frances Dukinfield, on 15 June 1775.3 He died on 18 December 1779, without issue.3
