Sir William Cusack-Smith, 2nd Bt.1 
He was given the name of William Smith at birth.2 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He graduated from Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lanesborough between 1794 and 1797.2 In 1798 his name was legally changed to William Cusack-Smith by Royal Licence.2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)2 He held the office of Solicitor-General from 1800 to 1801.2 He held the office of Baron of the Court of the Exchequer in Ireland between 1801 and 1836.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Smith, of Newton, King’s County [I., 1799] on 17 December 1808.2
