     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Galway.¹ He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Roscommon.¹ He lived at Aughrane Castle, Newbridge, County Galway, Ireland^G.¹

     Alice Emily Verner was the daughter of Sir William Verner, 2nd Bt. and Mary Frances Hester Pakenham.^1,2 She married, firstly, Christopher Neville Bagot, son of Thomas Neville Bagot and Ellen Fallon, on 8 August 1875.¹ She married, secondly, Major Reginald Wynne Roberts on 30 October 1879.¹ She and Major Reginald Wynne Roberts were divorced in 1895.¹ She died on 9 July 1908.¹
     From 8 August 1875, her married name became Bagot.¹ From 30 October 1879, her married name became Roberts.¹

     Major Reginald Wynne Roberts married Alice Emily Verner, daughter of Sir William Verner, 2nd Bt. and Mary Frances Hester Pakenham, on 30 October 1879.¹ He and Alice Emily Verner were divorced in 1895.¹
     He was appointed Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹
