     Frederick Rhodes Armitage was born on 11 August 1867.¹ He was the son of Thomas Rhodes Armitage and Harriet Black.¹ He married Ellen Moorhouse, daughter of Benjamin Michael Moorhouse, on 29 August 1896.¹ He died on 8 September 1952 at age 85.¹
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He lived at Noan, Thurles, County Tipperary, Ireland^G.¹

     Ellen Moorhouse was the daughter of Benjamin Michael Moorhouse.¹ She married Frederick Rhodes Armitage, son of Thomas Rhodes Armitage and Harriet Black, on 29 August 1896.¹ She died on 17 February 1942.¹
     From 29 August 1896, her married name became Armitage.¹
