Edward Sackville, 4th Earl of Dorset 

Edward Sackville, 4th Earl of Dorset was born in 1590.2 He was the son of Robert Sackville, 2nd Earl of Dorset and Lady Margaret Howard.2 He married Mary Curzon, daughter of Sir George Curzon, on 2 March 1612.2 He died on 18 July 1652.2
In 1613 he killed the 2nd Lord Bruce of Kinloss in a duel over a woman at Bergen-op-Zoom.2 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) in 1616.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sussex from 1620 to 1622.2 He held the office of Joint Lord-Lieutenant of Middlesex from 1620 to 1622.2 He held the office of Joint Lord-Lieutenant of Sussex between 1624 and 1642.2 He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Dorset [E., 1604] on 28 March 1624.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baron of Buckhurst, co. Sussex [E., 1567] on 28 March 1624.2 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1625.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1626.2 He held the office of Chamberlain of the Household between 1644 and 1646.2

Lady Mary Bertie was born on 1 September 1655.1 She was baptised on 1 September 1655 at Campden House, Kensington, London, EnglandG.1 She was the daughter of Montagu Bertie, 2nd Earl of Lindsey and Bridget Wray, Baroness Norris.1 She married Charles Dormer, 2nd Earl of Carnarvon, son of Robert Dormer, 1st Earl of Carnarvon and Lady Anna Sophia Herbert, before 1675.1 She died on 30 June 1709 at age 53 at Lindsay House, Westminster, London, EnglandG, without issue.1 Her will was proven (by probate) on 8 July 1709.1
From before 1675, her married name became Dormer.1 After her marriage, Lady Mary Bertie was styled as Countess of Carnarvon. Her last will was dated 22 October 1707.
