     Lt.-Gen. Duncan Darroch, 3rd of Gourock was born illegitimately in 1774.2 He was the son of Duncan Darroch, 1st of Gourock.2 He married Elizabeth Cotter, daughter of Reverend George Sackville Cotter and Margaret Rogers, in February 1799.2 He died on 16 December 1847.2
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General.2
