     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders.¹ He gained the rank of Squadron Leader in the Royal Air Force.¹ He was awarded the Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹

     Patrick Victor Cathcart Hannay was born on 27 June 1923.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Alexander Patrick Cathcart Hannay and Eva Maud Cotter.² He married, firstly, Maria Benita Rosalia Greco in 1943.¹ He married, secondly, Elvira Leonora Fachetti on 28 August 1948.¹ He married, thirdly, Iride Antonietta Giuseppina Ercolini, daughter of Cav. Pietro Ercolini, on 4 October 1965.¹ He died on 9 June 2009 at age 85.³
     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He lived in 2003 at 16 via Privata Cieli, La Spezia, Italy^G.¹

     Maria Benita Rosalia Greco married Patrick Victor Cathcart Hannay, son of Lt.-Col. Alexander Patrick Cathcart Hannay and Eva Maud Cotter, in 1943.¹ She died in 1944.¹
     From 1943, her married name became Hannay.

     Timothy John Hannay was born on 2 September 1929.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Alexander Patrick Cathcart Hannay and Eva Maud Cotter.² He married, firstly, Judith Butler, daughter of Colin Harpham Butler, on 25 August 1956.¹ He and Judith Butler were divorced in 1974.¹ He married, secondly, Linda Jess Elizabeth Callan in 1974.¹ He died on 10 February 2015 at age 85.³
     He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force.¹
