     Richard Lumley-Saunderson, 4th Earl of Scarbrough was born circa May 1725.¹ He was the son of Thomas Lumley-Saunderson, 3rd Earl of Scarbrough and Lady Frances Hamilton.¹ He married Barbara Savile, daughter of Sir George Savile, 7th Bt. and Mary Pratt, on 26 December 1752.¹ He died on 12 May 1782.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at King’s College School, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Viscount Lumley of Waterford [I., 1628] on 15 March 1752.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Scarbrough [E., 1690] on 15 March 1752.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Viscount Lumley [E., 1689] on 15 March 1752.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baron Lumley, of Lumley Castle [E., 1681] on 15 March 1752.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1765.¹ He held the office of Deputy Earl Marshal between 1765 and 1777.¹

     Barbara Savile was the daughter of Sir George Savile, 7th Bt. and Mary Pratt. She married Richard Lumley-Saunderson, 4th Earl of Scarbrough, son of Thomas Lumley-Saunderson, 3rd Earl of Scarbrough and Lady Frances Hamilton, on 26 December 1752.² She died on 22 July 1797.³
     After her marriage, Barbara Savile was styled as Countess of Scarbrough on 26 December 1752. From 26 December 1752, her married name became Lumley-Saunderson.

     George Augusta Lumley-Saunderson, 5th Earl of Scarbrough was born on 22 September 1753.¹ He was the son of Richard Lumley-Saunderson, 4th Earl of Scarbrough and Barbara Savile.¹ He died on 5 September 1807 at age 53, unmarried.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at King’s College School, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Lincolnshire between 1774 and 1780.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Viscount Lumley [E., 1689] on 12 May 1782.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Scarbrough [E., 1690] on 12 May 1782.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baron Lumley, of Lumley Castle [E., 1681] on 12 May 1782.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Viscount Lumley of Waterford [I., 1628] on 12 May 1782.¹

     Richard Lumley-Saunderson, 6th Earl of Scarbrough was born on 16 April 1757.¹ He was the son of Richard Lumley-Saunderson, 4th Earl of Scarbrough and Barbara Savile.¹ He married Hon. Henrietta Willoughby, daughter of Henry Willoughby, 5th Baron Middleton of Middleton and Dorothy Cartwright, on 25 May 1787.² He died on 17 June 1832 at age 75, without issue.¹
     He was given the name of Richard Lumley at birth.¹ At Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England, (an unknown value.)¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1779 in the 86th Foot.¹ He gained the rank of Captain between 1780 and 1784 in the 3rd Dragoons.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Lincoln between 1784 and 1790.¹ On 10 January 1784 his name was legally changed to Richard Lumley-Savile on inheriting the estate of his uncle, Sir George Savile, 8th Bt.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Nottinghamshire in 1793.¹ His name was legally changed to Richard Lumley-Saunderson on inheriting the Saunderson estates.¹ He gained the rank of Captain between 1803 and 1808 in the Rufford Yeomanry.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Viscount Lumley of Waterford [I., 1628] on 5 September 1807.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Baron Lumley, of Lumley Castle [E., 1681] on 5 September 1807.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Viscount Lumley [E., 1689] on 5 September 1807.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Earl of Scarbrough [E., 1690] on 5 September 1807.¹

     Captain Hon. Thomas Charles Lumley-Saunderson was born in 1758.¹ He was the son of Richard Lumley-Saunderson, 4th Earl of Scarbrough and Barbara Savile.¹ He died on 3 September 1782, killed aboard the Isis.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹

     Anna Maria Hering was the daughter of Julines Hering.¹ She married Reverend John Lumley-Savile, 7th Earl of Scarbrough, son of Richard Lumley-Saunderson, 4th Earl of Scarbrough and Barbara Savile, on 5 November 1785.¹ She died on 17 March 1850.¹
     From 5 November 1785, her married name became Lumley. From 1807, her married name became Lumley-Savile.¹ After her marriage, Anna Maria Hering was styled as Countess of Scarbrough on 17 June 1832.

     John Lumley-Savile, 8th Earl of Scarbrough was born on 18 July 1788.¹ He was the son of Reverend John Lumley-Savile, 7th Earl of Scarbrough and Anna Maria Hering.¹ He died on 29 October 1856 at age 68, unmarried, without legitimate issue.¹
     He was given the name of John Lumley at birth.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Nottinghamshire between 1826 and 1832.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for North Nottinghamshire between 1832 and 1835.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Viscount Lumley [E., 1689] on 21 February 1835.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Earl of Scarbrough [E., 1690] on 21 February 1835.¹ He succeeded as the 9th Viscount Lumley of Waterford [I., 1628] on 21 February 1835.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Baron Lumley, of Lumley Castle [E., 1681] on 21 February 1835.¹ On 14 October 1836 his name was legally changed to John Lumley-Savile by Royal Licence.¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire between 1839 and 1856.¹

     Hon. Frederick Lumley was born on 17 October 1761.¹ He was the son of Richard Lumley-Saunderson, 4th Earl of Scarbrough and Barbara Savile.¹ He married, firstly, Harriet Anne Boddington, daughter of John Boddington and Anne West, on 20 February 1786.¹ He married, secondly, Jane Bradby, daughter of Admiral unknown Bradby, on 25 March 1819.¹ He died on 20 September 1831 at age 69.¹

     Harriet Anne Boddington was the daughter of John Boddington and Anne West.^1,2 She married Hon. Frederick Lumley, son of Richard Lumley-Saunderson, 4th Earl of Scarbrough and Barbara Savile, on 20 February 1786.¹ She died on 20 July 1810.¹
     From 20 February 1786, her married name became Lumley.
