     He was working with the Indian Civil Service (I.C.S.)¹ He held the office of Inspector-General of Prisons in Bombay.¹

     Mary Stuart Erskine was the daughter of Claude Erskine.¹ She married Henry Nathaniel Alexander, son of Henry Alexander and Lady Louisa Juliana Knox, on 6 November 1883.¹ She died on 13 May 1928.¹
     From 6 November 1883, her married name became Alexander.¹

     Claude Erskine was working for the Bengal Civil Service.¹

     Constance Mary Alexander was born on 2 June 1885.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Nathaniel Alexander and Mary Stuart Erskine.¹ She died on 5 December 1956 at age 71, unmarried.¹

     Major Claud Henry Alexander was born on 31 May 1856.¹ He was the son of Henry Alexander and Lady Louisa Juliana Knox.¹ He married Irene Christine Tamplin, daughter of Colonel William Cloves Tamplin and Henrietta Christiana Schneider, on 1 October 1896.¹ He died on 19 March 1915 at age 58.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the Wiltshire Regiment.¹

     Irene Christine Tamplin was born on 17 August 1879 at Brighton, Sussex, England.² She was the daughter of Colonel William Cloves Tamplin and Henrietta Christiana Schneider.^1,2 She married Major Claud Henry Alexander, son of Henry Alexander and Lady Louisa Juliana Knox, on 1 October 1896.¹ She died on 25 November 1958 at age 79.¹
     From 1 October 1896, her married name became Alexander.¹

     Colonel William Cloves Tamplin was born in 1834 at Brighton, Sussex, England.² He was the son of Henry Pagden Tamplin and Hannah Anderson.² He married Henrietta Christiana Schneider, daughter of Robert Wilmot Schneider and Charlotte Elizabeth Robertson, on 20 November 1865 at St. Nicholas Church, Brighton, Sussex, England.² He died on 27 July 1893 at 1 Lennox Place, Brighton, Sussex, England.²
     He lived at Lennox Place, Brighton, Sussex, England^G.¹ He was awarded the Royal Officers’ Decoration (V.D.)²

     Dorothy Alice Alexander was born on 8 October 1897.¹ She is the daughter of Major Claud Henry Alexander and Irene Christine Tamplin.¹

     Rosemary Irene Alexander was born on 18 December 1900.¹ She was the daughter of Major Claud Henry Alexander and Irene Christine Tamplin.¹ She married Count Gaston Dru, son of Colonel unknown Dru, on 1 October 1942, they were without issue.¹ She died on 18 October 1972 at age 71.¹
     From 1 October 1942, her married name became Dru.¹
