     Sarah Stewart Hunter was born on 9 August 1949.¹ She is the daughter of Richard de Graaff Hunter and Diana Stewart Murray.²

     Maj.-Gen. Charles Edmund Layard married Laura Susan Prestage, daughter of Franklin Prestage, on 31 July 1914.¹ He died on 16 January 1920.¹

     Lt.-Gen. Cyril Francis Tyrrel Murray was born on 19 January 1863.¹ He was the son of Brig.-Gen. Alexander Henry Murray and Martha Frances Vincent Davenport.² He married Helen Edith Grogan, daughter of Reverend George William Grogan, on 10 February 1887.¹ He died on 2 July 1929 at age 66.¹
     He fought in the Miranzai Expedition in 1891.¹ He fought in the North-West Frontier between 1897 and 1898.¹ He fought in the Tirah Expedition in 1898, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.¹ He was appointed Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) in 1911.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indiam Army.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1916.¹

     Reverend George William Grogan lived at The Priory, Prestbury, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹

     Helen Edith Grogan was the daughter of Reverend George William Grogan.² She married Lt.-Gen. Cyril Francis Tyrrel Murray, son of Brig.-Gen. Alexander Henry Murray and Martha Frances Vincent Davenport, on 10 February 1887.¹ She died on 23 October 1945.¹
     From 10 February 1887, her married name became Murray.¹

     Colonel Cyril Alexander George Octavius Murray was born on 19 November 1887.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Cyril Francis Tyrrel Murray and Helen Edith Grogan.² He married Marjorie Lilias Milles, daughter of W. Jennings Milles, on 4 May 1922.¹ He died on 15 June 1960 at age 72.¹
     He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded and mentioned in despatches.¹ He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the King’s Own Scottish Borderers.¹ He gained the rank of Commander between 1936 and 1939 in the 155 (East Scottish) Infantry Brigade (Territorial Army.)¹ He gained the rank of Honorary Brigadier in 1945.¹

     W. Jennings Milles lived at Shanghai, China^G.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.)¹ He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹
