     He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was commissioned in 1909, in the service of the Prince of Wales’s Leinster Regiment, Royal Canadians, the.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1917.¹ He gained the rank of Adjutant in the 3rd and 7th Battalions, Leinster Regiment.¹ He gained the rank of Adjutant in 1922 in the East Surrey Regiment, when his former regiment was disbanded.¹ He was the commander of the 2nd Battalion, East Surrey Regiment between 1935 and 1939.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He was commander of the 342 Machine Gun Corps Training Centre between 1939 and 1941.¹ He gained the rank of Umpire Staff between 1941 and 1944 in the 342 Machine Gun Corps Training Centre.¹ He was Commandant of the Aldershot Detention Barracks between 1944 and 1946.¹ He retired from the military in 1946.¹

     Lieutenant Amar Henry Barnwell Acton was born on 31 August 1928.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Edward Leslie Lowry Acton and Ruth Margaret Acton.¹ He died on 21 January 1952 at age 23 at Ismailia, Egypt^G, unmarried, from wounds while serving with the 2nd Parachute Regiment.¹
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Surrey Regiment.¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹
