     James Scrymgeour was the son of John Scrymgeour and Magdalene Wedderburn.² He died, without issue.¹
     He succeeded as the 5th Viscount Dudhope [S., 1641] in 1698, de jure.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Dundee [S., 1660] in 1698, de jure.¹

     Alexander Scrymgeour is the son of John Scrymgeour and Magdalene Wedderburn.² He married Janet Falconer, daughter of David Falconer.¹
     He was Lay Professor of Humanity, Philsosphy and Theology at St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland^G.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Dundee [S., 1660], de jure.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Viscount Dudhope [S., 1641] in 1698, de jure.¹

     David Falconer was Professor of Divinity at St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland^G.¹

     Janet Falconer is the daughter of David Falconer.² She married Alexander Scrymgeour, son of John Scrymgeour and Magdalene Wedderburn.¹
     Her married name became Scrymgeour.¹

     David Scrymgeour of Birkhill is the son of Alexander Scrymgeour and Janet Falconer.² He married Katherine Wedderburn, daughter of Sir Alexander Wedderburn of Blackness, 4th Bt. and Katharine Scott.¹
     He was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates.¹ He held the office of Sheriff Depute of Inverness.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Dundee [S., 1660], de jure. He succeeded as the 7th Viscount Dudhope [S., 1641], de jure.¹

     Sir Alexander Wedderburn of Blackness, 4th Bt. was born on 4 November 1675.² He is the son of James Wedderburn and Elizabeth Davidson.² He married Katharine Scott, daughter of John Scott, on 15 November 1697.² He died on 21 September 1744 at age 68.²
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Wedderburn [G.B., 1704] in 1696.² He was Clerk of Dundee between 1696 and 1717, when he dismissed for Jacobitism.²

     Katherine Wedderburn is the daughter of Sir Alexander Wedderburn of Blackness, 4th Bt. and Katharine Scott.^2,3 She married David Scrymgeour of Birkhill, son of Alexander Scrymgeour and Janet Falconer.¹
     Her married name became Scrymgeour.¹

     Alexander Scrymgeour-Wedderburn of Birkhill was the son of David Scrymgeour of Birkhill and Katherine Wedderburn.² He married Elizabeth Ferguson, daughter of James Ferguson of Pitfour.¹ He died in 1811, without issue.¹
     He succeeded as the 6th Earl of Dundee [S., 1660], de jure.¹ He was given the name of Alexander Scrymgeour at birth.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Viscount Dudhope [S., 1641] in 1788, de jure.¹ In 1788 his name was legally changed to Alexander Scrymgeour-Wedderburn after inheriting the estates of David Wedderburn of Wedderburn.¹
